How Auto-Focus handles your data and protects your privacy
Last updated: January 31, 2025
Auto-Focus is built privacy-first. The app runs completely offline on your Mac and doesn't collect or store your personal data. We only collect the minimum information needed to process purchases and manage licenses.
When you buy Auto-Focus+, we collect your email address and name through Stripe to send you your license key. This information is stored on our license server hosted by Hetzner in Germany.
Auto-Focus+ periodically checks your license with our server. Only your license key is sent - no personal data, usage patterns, or app data is transmitted.
We use self-hosted Plausible Analytics (hosted by Hetzner in Germany) to understand website usage. This data is not linked to purchases or personal information and respects your privacy.
All your focus data, settings, and insights are stored locally on your Mac. You can export this data anytime in CSV or JSON format.
The extension monitors visited websites to detect focus apps but never stores or transmits this data. Website information is only used locally to match your configured focus URLs.
Our license server uses industry-standard encryption and is hosted by Hetzner in Germany, subject to strict European data protection laws.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
Our website uses unpkg.com for Tailwind CSS and js.stripe.com for payment processing. These services may log IP addresses for security purposes.
The Chrome extension is distributed through Google's Chrome Web Store, subject to Google's privacy policies.
You can request deletion of your purchase information or license data by emailing [email protected]. Since the app stores data locally, you control all your focus and productivity data.
